  FOR HOCKEY PLAYERS

 

 
 

6 programs available:

 

     

PLAYERS EHC PROGRAM I

  • Skating techniques(sharp turns, starts, stops,cross-overs, etc.)
  • Passing, forward/backhand(sweeps, wrist, flip)
  • Pass handling/reception
  • Puck handling
  • Body checking(Bantam-Midget)
  • Shooting, forward/backhand (sweepshot,wristshot, slapshot)

PLAYERS EHC PROGRAM II

  • Puck handling
  • Headmanning and puck control
  • Deeks and fakes
  • Puck protection
  • 1 on 1, 2 on 1
  • 3 on 2, (Pee-Wee-Bantam)
  • Scoring
  • Checking and uncovering
  • Face-offs
  • Body checking (Bantam-Midget)
  • Off-ice puck handling

POWER SKATING
This program will help students develop :

  • On-ice coordination and agility
  • Power and balance
  • Speed and control
  • Physical fitness through off-ice training

Note: Good physical preparation prior to participating in EHC is highly recommended.
Two daily training sessions as well as an evening game will allow students to apply and integrate the techniques and knowledge acquired.

Different exercices and techniques such as jumps, thrusts with weights, skipping, and weighted vests are used in this program.

 

ALL-STAR (AAA-AA-BB)
The all-star program is offered to players who played on double letter teams (AA, BB, CC) during the past season.

  • This program is designed to bring together more advanced players.
  • Focus on more advanced techniques.
  • Ensure higher intensity during training.
  • Increase physical fitness through off-ice training.
  • Focus on technical and tactical aspects during training.
  • Prepare the players for their next hockey camp

Proof of all-star play (contract/statistics etc.) required

TEAM PLAY
This program is aimed at developing all aspects of team play.

  • Morning: Training involving the following aspects of team play: break-outs, face-offs, center-ice and end-zone offence, forechecking, backchecking, zone defence, 3 on 2, 2 on 2, 2 on 1, etc., and team technical weaknesses. (75 minutes)
  • Afternoon: 60 minutes game
  • Evening: 75 minutes game
  • Off-ice: Team sports such as basketball, floor hockey,and socce

EHC PROGRAM PLUS
(8 DAYS) (7 DAYS)

  • Individual techniques
  • Passing, shooting
  • Puck handling
  • Strategy and tactics
  • Scrimmages
  • Body checking (Bantam/Midget)

 

 

 

 

 
 

WEEKLY SESSION

(sunday mornings, 27 hours)

The weekly program is general (E.H.C. 1)

On the ice, there are 4 groups composed of 6 players and one goaltender of the same category.

Each group is supervised by one coach.

The exercices lead the players to skate with the puck, pass and receive, and at the end, shoot on the goaltender.

Every 3 weeks, 20 minutes of the training are for power-skating.

 

SPRING BREAK

The spring break is a E.H.C.1 program (general).

Thre is a training of 75 minutes in the morning (skating, puck handling, shooting and passing) and a game of 75 minutes in the afternoon.

The activities start at 8H30 am and end at 4H30 pm.

Between the ice time, activities are organized (pool, climbing).

There is supervision from 7H00am to 5H30 pm.

EHC welcomes a group of 20 goaltenders each week. They have 2 training sessions a day followed by a game in the evening.

  • Poke checking
  • Moving from side to side
  • Breakaways
  • Screenshots
  • Glove saves,Blocker saves
  • Shooting and passing
  • Preparation, Equipment care, Etc.
  • Deflections

 

 

PROGRAM « B »
EHC welcomes 2 groups of 20 goaltenders. They have 3 training sessions a day without game in the evening.

  • Proper stance

What will you learn?

BASIC PRINCIPLES IN EACH PROGRAM :
There are six (6) different programs offered at EHC. Although the specific content of the various programs may vary depending on group ability and age, they share many common elements ::

  • Six hours a day (or more) of hockey training (50% off-ice);
  • Emphasis on inter-personal and team dynamics;
  • Constant supervision by staff;
  • Special assistance to students with learning difficulties;
  • Instruction in English or French;
  • Fitness training programs specially designed for hockey players;
  • Information on proper nutrition and hygiene;
  • Individual evaluations and a personalized videocassette for each student at the end of the program;
  • Individual and group feedback sessions using videotapes;
  • A sports philosophy based on fair-play and respect;
  • Body-building sessions for Bantam and Midget categories.
